When it comes to content and information flow, it becomes more efficient when content gets liberated from physical packaging i.e. to blow up the traditional boundaries that has limited content publishing into books and magazines. With the help of EPUB we overcome these limitations to deliver the contents in a standard publishing format.

The new EPUB 3 standard unveils the scope of EPUB in the current techno-trend with a move to HTML 5 based content and key emerging technological advancements in all means.

The current spec and key changes in EPUB 3 includes HTML 5 support, Rich media support & interactivity, Layout enhancements, Global languages support and Accessibility improvements. This opens the doors to new markets for publishers, application developers, eReaders & tablets manufacturers.

So we hope to see all the features like video & audio embedding, Metadata, linking, navigation, multimedia, font, scripting, text to speech, dynamic layouts, semantic markups, etc., in an EPUB with help of EPUB 3, this also provide opportunities for application developers to create eBook readers for web and mobile platforms.

We are glad that AEL Data has already involved in developing engaging interactive and multimedia rich eBooks using these EPUB 3 standards.

What eLearning is all about?

Friday, 02 July 2010 00:00 | Written by

Though eLearning got popular in the recent years, it has been in usage for several decades. The advent of information and communication technology, and its application in education gave birth to eLearning. If we define eLearning in a broader sense as it is a learning that happens through or with the use of electronic media, then knowledge/information transferred through radio and television can also be termed as eLearning.

In our day to day life, we get to learn about many things through eLearning. But, we're often not aware that the medium and the way we learn is a form of eLearning. Many of us think, eLearning is just a fancy hype of technology and it is intended to replace the traditional face-to-face teaching or instructor-led teaching. Because of this misconception, many organizations and institutions still hesitate to adopt eLearning and take its full advantage.

eLearning is not just about creating multimedia rich graphics and animations, and delivering them through some complex and sophisticated software platform. It is an approach of learning that blends right instructional design principles and technology to make the learning more engaging, interesting and effective. Its application in the areas of education has transformed the way we teach, learn and share knowledge today. It has enhanced the learning and training process, and greatly increased the effectiveness of acquiring and managing knowledge.

Let us adopt eLearning and achieve competitive advantage.
